clarke heard he mother and Jaha talking. they were arguing about Finn arguing about one life over hundreds. and it was silly her mother was a fool, she wasn't meant to lead. Clarke heard her mothers decision in her voice even though she had yet to say it out loud and left as quietly as she came.

10 minutes later Clarke came bursting into Finns tent "we have to go, now. Grab your bed roll, a tent, and whatever food you have. we are leaving now." she had her bag packed and didn't even give him time to respond before she was shoving the things she mentioned into a new bag. Finn was so confused he reached out and grabbed her arm.

"hey tell me what's going on. talk to me what happened?" he was pleading and afraid he didn't want to die surely there was another way for peace.

Clarke couldn't look at him she knew the choice she was making. The print it would leave on her forever. I wont let the grounders have you Finn. grab your bag and move. quietly just us. lets go. "she pulled him through the opening and they slipped out of camp Jaha into the forest. they went southeast hiking at a fast hard pace to put as much ground behind them. Finn kept trying to ask Clarke where they were going "to the ocean" would they be safe there? I don't know Finn. now stop talking walk faster" you're saving my life but your being so cold, why? she had to stop him from talking she stopped in her tracks and turned to face him "Finn i just chose your life over hundreds of people. your life. you who murdered half a village of children and elders. over people who have done nothing wrong. so forgive me if I'm struggling in the small talk department. shut up all your questions will be answered when we get there." she didn't wait for a response dint wait to see his face fall at the facts. she just turned and kept walking.

they finally reached the tallest tree in this part of the forest and decided to make camp. Clarke took out her water and noticed Finn watching the canteen. "here have it i brought an extra" she throws it to him and watches him drain it dry not touching hers, waiting. before he was even done with it he slumped to the ground and lay there unconscious. he'd be like that until morning she grabbed the rope out of her bag and tied him to the tree. now she just had to wait foe Lexa and Nyko then he would be their problem and her people spared from the tough choice would have peace.

it was late in the evening the next day she was on her way back to camp when she ran into a search party. Bellamy, Octavia, and a few other guards. "Clarke!" she heard her name but didn't know how to respond. She just kept walking. one foot in front of the other. "Clarke!" they kept calling.

finally it was Bellamy who grabbed her and turned her towards him he inspected her looking for an injury to explain all the blood that was and her hands and face. "Clarke, hey" finally Clarke looked at him. "hey what happened?"

she just stares at him the question taking a second. "we have peace with the grounders."

"Clarke what did you do?" its a whisper and she cant tell which emotion colors it, but she knows its not pride. not that she was expecting it.

I did what had to be done. I took Finn to the commander and I watched her kill him. for peace."
