"Where is Dr. Gordon?" Chapter 1

The first installment of the Saw franchise left many questions to be answered. The main one being, "What happened to Lawrence and Adam?" At the end of "Saw," we saw Adam left alone in the bathroom where Jigsaw chained him, and he was left to rot. And we saw that Dr. Gordon had escaped the bathroom by sawing off his own foot. What happened to them?

One of those questions were answered in the sequel, "Saw 2." At the end of the movie, you see Adam, still chained to the rusty, dirty pipe. He's dead. He's decomposing. And then you see Detective Matthews looking for his son and he goes down to the bathroom and sees nothing but Adam's deadbody and a bathtub. He looks, and up comes someone in a pig mask and Matthews gets injected with the antidote that is searched for by the players of Jigsaw's current game. So, half of the question mentioned earlier is answered. The other half remains, and that is what happened to Dr. Gordon?

As mentioned earlier, Dr. Gordon sawed off his own foot in order to try to escape the horrific mind-games of Jigsaw. We saw him go out the door, looking for help. That's all we see, but one thing is missed, and that is Dr. Gordon's knowledge. He is a surgeon, after all. So, did he cut off his own foot without knowing the consequences? Of course not.

What many probably didn't see is that he wrapped his ankle, above where he cut his foot. Then you see him crawl out the door. Here's what happens when he crawls away.

You see, Dr. Gordon is a surgeon, therefore, he knows the consequences of cutting off his own foot. He knows that soon enough, he will fade away and die from the massive blood loss. But he smartly takes the shirt that was wrapped around his ankle, and applies pressure to his amputated foot, lessening the blood loss. He knows that if he did that, he would last longer and would probably be able to find help.

Dr. Gordon continues to crawl and is way past the bathroom door. With his sawed off foot, you'd think that the excruciating pain and the agony would be the first thing on his mind. But it's certainly not; he's thinking of his family. The thoughts running through his mind are, "are they safe? Are they alive? Is Zep and Jigsaw the only ones behind this?" He starts to sob.

"I'll be home soon, Ally. No one's going to hurt you. You'll be safe. I'm...I'm...still alive. No one will hurt you."

He continues to inch his way on the ground, crawling. Feeling nothing but the pain in his ankle, the pain of knowing his family is in danger, and the cold, hard, concrete floor beneath him. He has to turn to his right to get down the hallway as he is at a dead end going forward. He looks to his right and sees a door! A part-way open door! Sweet salvation!

"I've...I've found a way out! I beat you, you sick, twisted bastard!"

Or has he? He doesn't know what lies beyond that door. He doesn't know if this was part of Jigsaw's plan. He's lost so much blood, his mind has got to be going. He doesn't know his destiny if he goes out that door. But Dr. Gordon is desperate. He wants his life, he wants to live to see his family again. To see his family safe and unharmed. He crawls toward the door, inch by inch by inch, in agonizing pain. He gets to the door and opens it up and he gasps.
