"Peeta!" "Peeta!" Katniss Everdeen stumbled through the maze of corridors.
She blamed all this on Haymitch. He abandoned Peeta and herself in District 12- reduced to rubble and the stench of burnt flesh and smoke. Katniss turned away for one second, one second, then Peeta was gone- leading Katniss to this place. Wherever "this place" was?
"Peeta!" She noted that the building looked like a castle from a fairy tale. Like life in Panem was a fairy tale, Katniss scoffed. Maybe for the Capitol, it is?
The clicking of her bow, against her back, filled the halls with sound- like a melody. Her heavy breathing as a bass line. "Peeta!"
Her braided hair swept around her, as if it were a weapon of its own.
After running round the place like a mad woman, Katniss decided to start searching the rooms- if there were any. She mostly found paintings in place of doors. Who designed this place?! Hands on knees and sweating in places Katniss didn't even know she could sweat in, she was giving up. Planning on coming back another day and dragging Haymitch back with her. Once she got hold of him, first.
"Password?"
Katniss scrunched her face in concentration, after being so distracted in finding Peeta.
Password?
"Password?" The voice was high pitched and demanding. Almost like Effie's. She turned round to face the source of the voice, "i don't know the...oh." There was a woman, with the figure of an opera singer. Everything would've been perfectly normal, except, the woman was in a painting..."What the?!"
"Darling, I'm gonna need a password, otherwise I can't let you through." Correction, this woman was nothing like Effie. She was broad and her voice was husky and deep. Katniss found a sudden dislike in this woman. She acted too proud of herself.
"I don't know the password!" Where was there to go, anyway. Katniss had been running around for at least fourty five minutes. Though there wasn't much to see; mainly portraits.
"You may enter." Huh? The painting opened automatically, revealing a hole in the wall. A door. "Erm...thank...you?" Katniss scrambled through the opening. Surprised, yet amazed. The room she walked into looked like something you'd find in a common Capitol household. In other words: Snows's place, except more acceptable compared to Capitol fashion.
She became so distracted she hadn't even noticed a boy, with a lightning scar, walk up to her and say, "Welcome to District 12.5. Or, as it was former named, Hogwarts the School for Witchcraft and Wizardry." He, and what seemed like his friends, a redheaded boy and a girl holding on to a pile of hardback, smiled warmly at her.
Katniss wasn't sure whether to smile back. She showed no emotion, instead.
