You look into the mirror and the Pine Tree stares back. You stare at yourself, eyes wide, analyzing yourself. Don't bother; there are no new muscles or hairs on your chin. Still, you vainly eye yourself, hoping for something that will take years to attain.

Go on, look behind you. That chill that just ran up your neck wasn't imaginary.

You're surrounded by your kind. Look around and see pine tree after pine tree. Why do you look so scared? This is your kind.

Keep screaming your lungs out. Though I won't reply, I can hear you. The way your throat dries and hardens after each screams fills me with happiness. Soon enough no noise will come out at all. That will be just another thing that you will have to deal with.

Do you think that someone will save you? Only moments ago you were so sure of yourself. Is finding your way around a forest too hard for you? It's not as though there's anyone but you and I here, so you don't need to worry about skinny men with tentacles or axe wielding lumberjacks who desire blood.

Are you trying to climb a tree. I admit, looking for which direction from up high is a smart move. You can do this, kid.

It would be such a shame if that branch broke on you. But don't worry, the fall won't hurt. At least not too much.

Get up and keep trying. There's a whole maze ahead, waiting for you to conquer it. I'm sure I'll be in for a treat. And don't think that this is impossible and completely hopeless. I designed it just for you.

You could say that it will give you a whole new way to look at yourself.
