Toph and Aang were sitting under a cherry tree in the Fire Nation palace garden. In the few months since the war ended, Zuko and Katara had gotten together, Sokka and Suki had officially announced they were dating and Toph and Aang began dating.
They were still under the tree, in silence, when Toph broke the silence.
"If I changed how I look, would you still love me?" she asked.
Aang was surprised and a little taken back, but he spoke the truth. "Of, course! You'd still be the same Toph."
"If I changed how I acted toward you, would you still love me?"
Aang thought for a moment.
"Yes. I might be curious of why you changed a little, but I wouldn't stop loving you."
She smiled and closed her eyes. "If I changed my personality, would you still love me. Like, if I became girly like Sugar Queen?"
Aang pursed his mouth tight and thought (again)
"Hmmm…that's hard to say. I'll always love you, but if you change, you wouldn't be the Toph I really love. This Toph is the one I like best."
He kissed her lightly on the lips.
When they broke apart, she smiled. "Now, I'm just going to let you know now I like this Twinkle Toes the best…so don't change…or ELSE!"
He laughed. He wouldn't have her any other way than the way she was.
