A blackened void overcasted the sky. A thick veil of silence weighed down the air. The land was empty, arid to the touch. There was nothing; no order or chaos, nor life or death for all that remained, was the cold embrace of entropy.
The end was drawing near.
The zoura stood on the broken road before him. His fur was feral and decaying; his eyes were sharp but somber. He took a step only to fall, causing particles of reality to waltz into the air. 'This can't be how it ends...'
"Icour, we tried our best." a soft, solemn voice said from behind him. Icour turned around and saw his friend, a pikachu, who patted him on the shoulder, tears streaming down her cheeks.
I look into my friend's eyes. Her's are just like mine, full of fear.
"I know, I know," Icour mumbled, turning his gaze to the deteriorating ground. His fur stood on all ends seeing the land he called home fade from existence. He despondently sighed, prompting his ears to drop to their sides.
My vision is hazy; my mind has lost hope. In my dreams, I only see the beauty of annihilation.
"Lani—" Icour started, a slight tremble in his voice, "—hold me tight."
Lani rushed to her friend and clasped her hands, giving a solid hug. Icour nestled his head in-between Lani's yellow fur as it muffled his sobs. He felt that her embrace was different; it wasn't warm or friendly, it seemed completely foreign.
I stare at the void, finding that my own reflection stares back. Should I join the shadows?
"Thank you," Icour said sadly, poking his head out of her chest. A foreboding roar rippled through the air, disrupting the sleet of particles of the remaining ground, and turning the duo turned into an amalgam of light molecules. Their -along with the rest of reality- specks splayed out into the atmosphere twisting and twirling before another roar sounded. What reality was leftover was swiftly destroyed by the second blast, sending the universe into an obscure nothingness.
It was finally complete.
Ascend from darkness, let everything go,
for all shall be free with the finishing blow.
