Paradise

You took my hand, and lead the way

A paradise where we could stay

We hid inside, safe and warm

We watched the world, caught in a storm

There we stayed, we knew no pain

Our two pure souls, the world would stain

But something stirred from deep inside

To a lingering thought, my heart replied

I looked outside, and there I saw

A world of beauty, I stared in awe

Pushing open the door, I blinked my eyes

For then I saw, a world of lies

I turned back then, to run inside

Back to your arms, where I could hide

I looked around, and saw no home

I panicked then, I was….alone

Then you found me, frightened and cold

"Your safe, I'm here" I was told

I looked up then, into your eyes

And with you here, there were no lies

You picked me up, and kissed my head

I pushed away with tears and said

"I'm sorry, why can't you see?

Your paradise, is not for me."

I stood back then, and walked away

In paradise, I could not stay

I hated myself for the choice I had made

By your side, I should have stayed

You yelled my name, I hoped you would

Slowly I turned, and there you stood

You said "I'm sorry, but your wrong you know

Where ever you are, my paradise will go"
