She was an angel, sitting above the world, in the sky.
She watched the world below, the world she once called home.
She wanted to know, she HAD to know, just what, what had become of her boys, her family.
And so she watched, and so she saw.
They were separated and sent to live apart, sent to go on different paths.
The first, the younger one, Theodore, he would take his brother's name, and go to another life in his stead. He would forget his previous life, and move on to his new path. And yet, how cruel was this new path. So much loss, so much death; he would lose his friend, his love. Even then, he lived, he fought, and he became a true gentleman.
Her other boy, Hershel, he had forfeited his name. He had sworn revenge on the group that had taken his family. And yet he would find happiness in a wife and child only to have it maliciously stolen from him. He would swear against those that wronged him and become blinded by vengeance.
Her two boys like light and dark. She sometimes wonders what it would have been like if Targent hadn't come. Would life … still be the same? Would they be happy? Would Theodore had not suffered so much loss and be forced to be kind and merciful even though he carries the burden of so many loved ones he knows he will wake without. Will Hershel still swear revenge and be consumed by it. No, they wouldn't. It was all their fault, Targent. The ruined their family, separated her sons, drove her husband to become an uncaring and grim leader of their accursed organization.
Oh, how she will wish and how she will dream, Dream than Targent never came to their doorstep. Or rather, Targent never exist at all so that no one else will suffer the same fate as her.
And yet, she knows that the hands of time cannot be turned.
So instead, she will hope, hope that her sons, Theodore and Hershel, Hershel and Desmond, light and dark can end this. That they can end the force of Targent that had ruined them, end her husband's mad schemes, end the cursed legacy of the Azran.
And so, she is an angel who is in heaven, looking down to the world below, and praying. She prays for she once was a mother in the world below, and she knows that her sons can save the future.
Happy Mother's Day! Be kind to your mother, they brought you into this world, and they can take you out of it...
