A/N I do not own the world of Harry Potter. I also do not remember everything about what 1990- 1997 was like. So for my story the 1990s has the same tech as now, and references may be made of things in the real world that happened after the books timeline. I'll try to make it not too outrageous. Updates will be slow. Sorry. Chapter 1 coming soon.

Since the beginning of the wizarding world there have been the Noble Houses. Over time, as new Noble Houses rose, those that came before became known as the Ancient Noble Houses. By the end of the twentieth century almost all of the Ancient Noble Houses had been lost through war or the lack of male heirs. Those that remain formed the Ruling Nine, a council of the most magically powerful families in Britain. They are the Houses of Potter, Black, Longbottom, Bones, Greengrass, Davis, Nott, Lestrange and the most ancient and powerful of all magical families, the Ashwoods.

Since man first harnessed magic the Ashwoods have practiced and followed the laws of magic and magic has blessed them. It is well known throughout the magical world that the Ashwoods possess many gifts. These abilities include shape shifting and control of the elements, among many others. Each and every Ashwood had at least one magical gift that set them apart from other wizards. Most powerful of all is the Ashwood Head of House, who was rumoured to possess all of powers gifted to the Ashwoods as well as one unique to the Head of House, the gift of foresight. It was this gift that made the Ashwoods strong. All magical children learned early on in life to never oppose an Ashwood venture if it had the Head if house's support. The Ashwoods very rarely failed.

It was this gift of foresight that granted Lady Cassandra Ashwood, last of the Ashwoods, visions of the life of Harry James Potter. Armed with this knowledge she set out to change the future and save a young boy's life.
