Spirited Away 3
Chapter 15 years later… This is a continuation of moviefan-92's story, Spirited Away 2: Return to the Spirit World.
Chihiro and Haku lie in bed together, with the two of them being merged, they can hear each other's thoughts.
"What's wrong," Haku asked.
"How did you-? Oh wait. I forgot, the thing we did 5 years ago."
"Now what is wrong?." Chihiro laid there, thinking if she should tell Haku about her parents and about what was going on in her home world, last she heard.
"Chihiro?"
She sighs, thinking, I gotta tell him. "I can't stop thinking about my parents, my friends. And last I heard, my…my friend, she.." Tears are welling up in her eyes.
Haku realizes what she's about to say, "stop Chihiro! I know what you are about to say! I am sorry about your friend." He voice is shaky, he is just as shocked as her, he feels her pain, her loss. She felt just what he is feeling. She tried her best to calm down. Then she spoke.
"Last I heard from the spirits that could go to the other world, Mimi was crying somewhere in the forest, somewhere around that river where I almost drowned? She said that Mimi was saying that she missed me, that it was her fault, that she should have listened to me when I was talking about seeing you. That she shouldn't have let me go off by myself, that she should have made me go with her no matter what.
"The spirit said that Mimi was breaking down, crying. She wanted to do something but didn't know what to do to help Mimi without exposing herself. And she was crying and then left, Mimi just left. She said that the last she heard of, from the other spirits, they said that her parents found Mimi in her apartment, dead, because of me Haku! I did this to her!" Haku didn't know what to say, he was stunned. Then finally he said:
"Man! I am... speechless. What about your parents?"
Chihiro sighed. She wasn't sure. She wasn't sure she even wanted to know. Not because of any family feud but because she was afraid of how she would react.
"She said that last she heard from the other spirits, my father started drinking and my mother is trying to find me. They don't believe I am dead. Which is good I guess... they probably have an idea. I just wish that I could go back to the human world or at least have the door to the spirit world opened but… I don't think that Lord Okaia would go for it."
Even if he could, even if he wanted to, would they even be able to find it? Would they even think to look there? Chihiro had proof that she was there so that she could remember the Spirit World, but what about her parents? And besides, she was a kid! They were adults so of course they wouldn't remember but, then again, they were pigs so, they didn't even remember her.
"I don't know, Chihiro. Even if he did open the door, which I'm sure that he would for you, cause you are his favorite I hear, I am definitely not, haha. I don't think that it would be a good idea because, even though you were liked as a kid, and now, remember there are still plenty of spirits that don't like humans. So you would be putting your parents at risk. You wouldn't want that"
Chihiro sighs. "I suppose that you're right. I just wish that there was a way for me at least to go over to the spirit world, I look enough like a human to still pass for one."
"Yeah, but you would still get sick Chihiro. Spirits don't belong in the human world, it's as simple as that." Seeing the disappointed look on Chihiro's face, he said "don't worry, we'll figure something out! Just a matter of time! Who knows, maybe me, you and the kids, and maybe Lin, could all visit the human world for the first time!"
They keep talking for a good while longer, and then Akio wakes up crying from a nightmare.
