The New Vegas Chronicles
Chapter One: Beginnings
Although the second battle for Hoover Dam was won by the New California Republic, things have not changed much for the Mojave Wasteland. Except for the fact that Caesar's Legion was defeated and was forced to retreat, making the wasteland a little safer. Some of the people of the Mojave started to rebuild some of the destroyed homes and areas that could be used to give people a home. Everyone was safe when the Legion was defeated. At least that's what they thought. Little did they know that a greater threat was yet to come. This is the New Vegas Chronicles.
James, a Captain with the New California Republic, was interrogating a man accused of theft. It wasn't going smoothly.
"Look, just tell us the truth and I can guarantee the charges won't be severe." James said to the man who was pissed at the accusations.
"And I've told you the truth. You know it, you just don't want to believe me." The man said.
James left the room to talk to the officer that arrested the man. "Are you sure he was stealing? Were there any witnesses?" The MP shook his head. "That's what I thought. You're dismissed" He said to the MP as he reentered the room. "Ok, You're free to go." The man got up and rushed out of the room.
"Captain, is he really free to go or are just turning your head the other way." A lieutenant asked.
"Yes, he is free to go Lieutenant. Come on; let's finish the paper work so we can leave." James said to the Lieutenant who nodded his head in agreement.
As the two officers were leaving the dam, they saw a big plume of smoke beyond a hill. "Let's go check it out Lt." James said as they headed for the smoke.
Meanwhile in the Halo universe.
"Come on and get back here Six" Noble Five said to Six. Noble team was in the middle of Operation: Uppercut. The UNSC was going to use a slip space drive as a makeshift bomb to take down a Covenant supercarrier. When Noble Six reached the hangar, he and Jorge finished killing the rest of the covenant troops.
"Well, I got good news and bad news" Jorge said to Six. Jorge told Six the news, Six automatically knew what Jorge had to do. Noble Five picked Six up and carried him to the edge of the hanger. "Tell them to make it count." When he said that, he threw Six off the ship towards Reach.
"Time to finish this." Jorge said to himself as he worked on the bomb. As the ship reached the carrier, the bomb detonated creating a slip space rupture, destroying the carrier and killing Jorge. At least that's what he thought.
