I may not be the most normal girl in the world, but I love Halloween. I know that a lot of the girls I know, and hate, use it as an excuse to show even more cleavage and show even less restraint and inhibition, but for me it's a magical day full of surprises. And hey, an excuse to dress up and eat candy is always good, right? I've loved the holiday since I was a little girl. My earliest memory is Mom dressing me up as a little black kitten and taking me out trick-or-treating. She was done up in the full "Bride of Frankenstein" garb and make-up; it was truly a sight to behold. She could even do the cool hissing noise. She loved the day and passed that love on to me. Dad isn't big on any holiday, but when Mom was alive he'd try to show us some support by wearing a jack-o'-lantern sweater or tie. Since Delia he hasn't felt much need to do even that much, but maybe at the new house he'll get the spirit. Anyway, the cat costume was the first of a long line, and I try to top myself each year. This year my friends and I are going on the haunted tour in the next town and we're doing it in full costume. I know there will be a zombie cheerleader, a vampire nurse, a battle princess, and an elf, but I think maybe I've got them topped. It's my last Halloween before we move to the middle of nowhere, so I wanna go out on a high note. I'm going to be a dead bride; I've even got the dress and stuff already from the resale shop. I'm not sure if it's in poor taste or whatever like Delia says or not, but who cares what she thinks anyway? I mean, what's the worst thing that could happen?
