Chapter One

The Russo family seemed to be just as normal as the other families on Waverly Place. They had three kids, Justin, Alex, and Max, who bickered with each other all the time. The parents, Jerry and Theresa, owned a sandwich shop which was located right below their house. Each of the kids had jobs there, mainly taking orders and cleaning the tables, simple things like that. The Russo's seemed like they had nothing to hide; but oh were the people on Waverly Place wrong.
We'll start with the oldest child, Justin Russo. Justin was a very smart 17 year old boy. You could ask him any question and he would answer, correctly. Well, most of the time. He spent most of his time organizing his action figure collection and helping Alex get out of whatever trouble she was in.
Next, we'll go to Alex Russo, the middle child. Alex was always getting into trouble. She liked to pull pranks on her brothers and occasionally her own parents. Alex got into trouble a lot, but she always had her older brother, Justin, to help her out. Alex was nothing like Justin when it came to school. She never did her homework and she absolutely hated reading. You'd almost never see Alex Russo with a book.
The youngest Russo was Max. Now, Max wasn't the brightest kids on Earth. In fact, he wasn't very bright at all. He'd always ask stupid questions and not understand the simplest things. He liked to try and show off a lot but, he usually ended up getting hurt. Okay, he pretty much always got hurt but, he didn't care. He still thought he looked cool.

So, you're wondering what secret the Russo family has? Well, there a family of Wizards. Okay well, only Justin, Alex, and Max have powers. It's actually a very long and somewhat confusing story. We better get started.
Jerry Russo used to be a wizard. Unfortunately, he had a brother, which meant they had to have a battle to see who the better wizard was. The one who won the battle got to keep their powers, the loser, walked away with nothing. Jerry won. Now, I bet you're like 'Then how is he not a wizard yet?'Well just calm down. I'm getting there. Okay, Jerry met the most beautiful girl in the world, Theresa. Theresa was not a wizard, but she and Jerry were in love. Unfortunately, wizards and mortals cannot be together. So Jerry sacrificed his powers to be with her, such a nice man.
Now, on to Justin, Alex, and Max. Wizards in training. Their dad teaches them yet, it is a little difficult since Jerry has no powers but, they're still really talented. Once they're all ready, they'll have a battle just like their father had, to see who will get to keep their powers.
Now that you know the Russo secret, you must swear not to tell anybody. If their secret gets out, they'll be in a big mess and everything will be terrible. And we don't want that to happen. I mean, no one can know that they're wizards. Not even Alex's best friend from kindergarten knows that she's a wizard. Sure it's tough keeping the secret, but it's not worth losing their powers. I mean, would you want to give up your powers? I know I wouldn't.
