He lead her inside with his hands stubbornly covering her eyes. He insisted on him doing that instead of her doing it herself. She had played the "you don't trust me!" card, but had to admit that this was the typical Castle behavior she fell in love with all those years ago. He struggled to open the door with one hand but refused to use his other hand to open the door. God, if that stubbornness hadn't worked out for them so well before...
"What's so imporant anyway that you don't want me to see it Castle? Is this you taking me back?" Her voice was casual and she tried to sound a bit annoyed, but she had to admit that she was starting to become increasingly curious.
he chuckled, his breath fanning her neck in a pleasant way that made her relax instantly. It had been a long day at work, but even standing in front of her (their) door he made it all allright.
"Oh Kate, trust me, when I do get you back, you will not see it coming."
Kate rolled her eyes and he chuckled again.
"Don't roll your eyes. I know you are."
"Just open the damn door."
"Impatient?" His hand started left the key and started tracing up to the hem of her shirt. His fingers tickling that spot that he knew made her weak in the knees with the ticking. She slapped his hand away and turned around in his embrace.
"Open the door. Or I'm going to kick it in." He just smiled with that annoyingly handsome face of his hand covered her eyes again. Suddenly, without warning, his lips covered hers and she felt him smiling against her lips. She allowed herself to forget about the door for the moment and teased him softly with her teeth and tongue.
They broke apart when they heard a huge bang coming from the loft. Beckett turned around within a split second, effectively throwing her ponytail in her boyfriend's face. Cop instincts kicking in, she grabbed the key from his hands and jammed it into the keyhole. She threw the door open and ran into the living room, Castle at her heels.
Castle nearly crashed into her when she stopped dead in her tracks. He immediately noticed why his badass cop kick-ass girlfriend had suddenly frozen and staring slack-jawed into the room:
In the middle of the room, surrouned by a broken vase and dozens of papers, sat a tiny, golden coated puppy a purple bow neatly tried around its neck.
Unable to think of what else to say, Castle went along with his carefully constructed plan. He cleared his throat and gave her the collar that had been in his jacket for hours. Later Beckett would read what was on it: Bungee Beckett Castle.
For now Castle just hoped she didn't value that vase too much and mustered his courage.
"Suprise."
I've never actually seen Marley & Me, but I know what it's about, and I guess it kind of inspired me.
I should watch the movie, haha.
