Hermione's POV

"Hey, Granger, what 'cha doing?" I heard the recognizable voice of a certain Slytherin boy. What wasn't normal was that he hadn't called me 'Mudblood.'

"What is it, Malfoy?" I looked up. He just looked toward the book on the table. "I'm studying."

"What for?"

"For a test in Apparition," I said in an confused tone.

"What?" I glared at him. "Now I'm not getting an answer..? Gee, thanks." The 'thanks' sounded sarcastic.

There was silence as I once again returned to the book. A few minutes later, I looked up to see him gone. I was about to breathe a sigh of relief when I heard whispering in my ear.

"You look like you've calmed down." I jumped out of my seat.

"How'd you get behind me without me noticing?!" I was annoyed.

"Whoa, whoa, calm down! I'm sorry, now, please, put the wand down." I hadn't realized I'd pulled my wand out. I put it back.

Absolute silence, once again.

Draco's POV

I was sitting in the library with Hermione Granger.

"Why didn't you call me 'Mudblood?'" She mumbled suddenly.

"What?"

"When you first approached me, you called me 'Granger,' Why didn't you call me 'Mudblood?'"

"I called you 'Granger?' You were obviously hearing things, I thought I said 'Hermione.'"

"... What..?"

"I... I don't know." It came out sounding more like a question than an answer.

More silence, just short moments when I would glance or stare at her as she studied. Then I felt two pairs of eyes on me as I watched her.

Then Harry and Ron (I forget what Draco calls these two, please tell me in the reviews! Thanks.) appeared.

"There you are, Hermione," Ron said. "Malfoy." He said my name with hatred.

"Weasley." I responded with the same amount of hate, looking at them, annoyed.

"Is he bothering you, Hermione?"

"I'm surprising myself by saying this, but, no. Not at all..." I smirked.

"I guess I'll go then, I was just looking for some company, anyway." I got up and left.
