"Forever?"
"Mm! I promise it'll be forever!"
"You can't take back those words, Kaito."
-
"My Lord! My Lord! It's time to wake up!" My back shifted up along with the rest of my body, a sudden jolt fell over me. "You really need to learn your morals again, Elizabeth. Don't wake up your master like that." The young blonde woman stepped back and took a bow, obviously embarrassed by her pitiful actions.
Elizabeth is still a newbie to this game though. She was taken away from her family not long ago, and recently turned 14. The townsmen called me a monster for taking her away, but she had extraordinary skills in tailoring. Elizabeth is also a very beautiful young woman, although I claim to not notice her beauty. Every day she wakes me up in a pestering way, with a new hairstyle or makeup look to go with it.
"Sorry, My Lord. I get too ahead of myself. Today's breakfast will be crème da la mer with a side of-" I sat up and grabbed my tea and newspaper from her grip. "I know, you told me last night the menu for today. I believe we have a guest today too?" Elizabeth sighed heavily, and excused herself after warming my bath.
As I finished my daily routine, with no help from my head butler or maid, I hid my bracelet tucked in my sleeve. I promised I'd keep it with me, and I will continue to deliver that promise every day. Although, she never continued her promise.
My father is a wealthy, nosy man. A real typical king, but he hates knowing the truth about his actions. The amount of innocent peasants that have fallen to his feet are out-numbered by the amount of times I've gone against him. He is truly a sick man, however, he will always be my father, and especially this morning he reeked of alcohol. "You're late, Kaito." He bellowed and looked at me with those crimson, dirty eyes. "My apologies father, please, don't let me interrupt."
"It seems you have forgotten. Let me remind you only once. Tonight, we are hosting a ball. It will feature a range of guests differing status and prosterities. Something interesting will happen, I hope you'll be attending and won't run off." I narrowed my eyes at him. Suspicious. 'Something interesting will happen, eh?'.
Tonight shall be interesting.
