A Sudden Question
Simon wants to get a girlfriend. So he talks to Matt about it.
"I really need a girlfriend," Simon said to Matt.
Someone overheard them so they came over. "So I heard you were looking for a girlfriend," the stranger said. "Well I was looking for a boyfriend. Oh and my name is Amanda. What's yours?" Amanda said. "It's Simon," he said stunned. "Let's talk about this over dinner." "OK."
"So let me get this straight," Amanda said. "You have 7 siblings, 3 brothers and 3 sisters. Matt is the oldest, followed by Mary, Lucy, you, Ruthie, and Sam and David."
"Yep," Simon said. "And you have 1 younger sister." "Exactly. We can learn pretty fast can't we?" "I guess. Hey, so do you want to become boyfriend and girlfriend." "Wait, before we do, are you Christian?" Amanda said earnestly. "Of course!" said Simon. "Well, than the answer to your question is yes!" "Ok, I'll pick you up around 8 to go to a movie. Then you can meet my parents." "That sounds like a plan."
Simon goes home and tells everyone what happened.
"Well that's great Simon!" Mary, Lucy, and Matt said in unison.
"She'll be coming tomorrow so you can meet her," said Simon.
Simon picked Amanda up and they ate dinner. "Simon?" said Amanda. "Yes?" "I've been thinking and what if your parents don't like me?" "They'll like you. Believe me, they'll like you." "I hope your right."
They arrived at the Camden house just in time to see everyone around the window.
"What are you doing?" Simon said. "Nothing," said Ruthie.
"Come sit down," said Eric.
Simon and Amanda just sat on the couch when everyone started asking questions all at once.
"One at a time." Amanda said. "Let's start with Ruthie and go to the oldest which would be Matt or in this case Mr. Camden.
Everyone was amazed at how Amanda knew their names. Amanda answered questions until there weren't any more to be answered.
"Well, your welcome in our family anytime," said Eric. "Bye everyone," Amanda said as she went out the door.
"Do you like they liked me?" said Amanda. "I don't think they did, I know they did!" Simon said. "Well I guess I'll drop you off at your house now."
After driving for about 10 minutes, they reached Amanda's house. Simon walked her to the door.
"Well I'll see you tomorrow then, ok?" said Amanda. "Yeah," Simon said. Then they kissed for what seemed like forever. "Well I've got to be going," said Amanda. "Bye," said Simon.
They went on many more dates. Then one night something different than just a normal date happened.
"Go Simon!" said Matt when he heard the news. "I'm really nervous!" Simon said. "Don't be." Matt rushed Simon out the door to go to dinner with Amanda.
"What was that about?" said Amanda. "Oh nothing."
They had a long conversation at dinner. Then all of a sudden Simon got down on one knee and said, "Will you marry me?" "Am I hearing right? Did you ask me if I wanted to marry you?" Amanda said not knowing what else to say. "That's what I said," said Simon a little shaky. "Well then yes, yes I would love to marry you!"
