Heaven went to Hell the moment that Michael and Lucifer fell into the cage. Lines were being drawn by each side. Some wanted Raphael to rule Heaven; others wanted Castiel to take over. The fighting was almost immediate.
It was more an argumentative thing at first, then escalating slowly until someone finally drew a blade. That someone was Ezra, an angel about my rank, a warrior, who was dedicated to keeping Heaven safe. Soon, there was chaos and bright white light explosions all across the skies. We hid away in the Heaven of a small child who had drowned. It was a calm and quiet place for us to discuss out next moves. Cas and I were making plans with Ezra and the rest of our small garrison.
"We have to win this one." Ezra said, turned to Castiel.
"Yes, we do. But slaying our brothers and sisters in the process?" He asked himself aloud.
"Cas…" I started, "We have to. Or they'll kill us first. They're in it to win, so why wouldn't we be?"
"Because it… it isn't holy." The angel argued.
"Even Samandriel agrees with the cause, Cas. You will be the new leader if we just win this. No more corruption. No more chaos. We can make it all right Cas." I countered.
"She's right Cassie. We can end this. We can fix everything." Balthazar defended me.
"I suppose you are right. But how do we win this?"
"We… We have to lower the number of our opponents. We have to kill the others Cas… It's kill or be killed out there." Ezra muttered.
"I'm not sure about this…" Ariel commented. I was grateful the archangel was on our side, but her doubt made me worried.
"Do you want the apocalypse to happen, I mean, really happen? They'll find a way if we don't stop them." I asked her.
The archangel sighed, "No. I do not."
"Then we must fight." Balthazar's voice boomed. Castiel nodded in agreement.
"And when this is all over, Cas will be our new god." I announced.
