Sublimino remained by his mother's bedroom window. Frowning, he concentrated on the window. *Mom was sick for a very long time* he thought.
Sublimino was aware of the woman under a blanket. *Mom won't have to suffer soon.* He turned his head.
Sublimino's father stood near his wife's bed. Tears ran down his face as he frowned.
Sublimino approached the bed. His eyes were on his mother as the latter winced. They widened after a smile appeared on her face. He stepped back.
''Thank you for remaining with me during my final moments. I'll return as something else after my death. I'll be near you after I return.''
Sublimino's mother kissed her spouse's wet face. She turned to Sublimino. She touched his hand for a few seconds.
Sublimino's mother grinned before she closed her eyes.
''Mom?'' Sublimino muttered under his breath. He gasped before a tear ran down his face. He heard his father while the latter sobbed.
Sublimino went to his chamber and saw his bed. Scowling, he approached the bed and collapsed on it. He fell asleep.
Sublimino never opened his eyes until the next day. He sat up and stretched his arms. He walked out of his chamber. *I should check on my father. Just to see how he is doing. Dad is probably resting on the floor.*
Sublimino tilted his head to one side after he viewed his father on the floor. *I was correct about my father?* he thought. That was when he noticed the empty bed. *I guess he removed the body earlier this morning.*
After frowning another time, Sublimino entered the chamber. *I remember my mother mentioning returning as something else. She will be near me*
he thought. Sublimino searched for his mother's new form.
There was something else on the floor. Sublimino saw his mother's new form. He shrieked after his eyes widened. Sublimino ran from the Mexican red-kneed tarantula.
