A gush of wind was slowly swaying a certain raven haired teen. Shivers slowly invaded his body as his chest continued to feel the suddenly cold day. His fingers were intertwined to another older raven's hair. His eyes bled crimson tears.

He felt loneliness, again. He had his share of revenge, but why did he still feel so…lonely? Sixteen-year-old Uchiha Sasuke settled unfocused eyes on a small folded piece of paper that snuck out of his brother's pant pocket. Sluggishly, he reached out for it.

Sasuke's face was etched in surprise to find a picture of him and Itachi, his loving older brother, who's heart turned to stone as he killed his family. Sasuke remembered the memory very clearly. His feet were lazily slung around his brother's waist as he was carried on Itachi's back. His eyes burned in happiness as he reached out for a pretty blue butterfly that was so close but still too far away. His brother looked so happy. Sasuke felt happy. Why couldn't everything stay the same? Perfect? Flawless?

The photograph was painted in bloody red ink from the spilt blood. Pale hands clenched the picture before placing it over his brother's heart. He heaved a breath of relief as he dropped and fell unconscious.

"Sasu-chan." Sasuke fluttered his eyes open quickly. A ninja must never let his guard down. They would never survive if they did.

"K-kaa-san?" Sasuke wiped the sleep from his eyes. He was hallucinating.

"Sasu...can I ask you a question?" Sasuke nodded his head, still dazed.

"Do you…Do you regret anything in your life?" The question was uncalled for. Sasuke's utter shock was the response.

"Kaa-san…" He knew he couldn't lie. She would probably know and leave him alone again. She always knew when he lied, and she always scolded him thoroughly for it. "Yes…" He hung his head.

"You can tell me. There's nothing to be ashamed of." Her lips were formed into a patient smile.

He felt compelled to tell her everything. "I wish I was strong. I wish I was strong enough to save you and tou-san! I wanted to save…Itachi. I know I could've been happy not leaving Konoha, but I couldn't. I am still weak like I was before." He felt like a young child compared to his mother. He felt unsafe until she wrapped her arms around him. His eyes were opened, figuratively.

He saw him being born. He looked so innocent, his eyes still shining, but slowly, his face turned stoic; his eyes grew dull. He saw Itachi talking to the council about the coup de e'tat. He saw Itachi agreeing to slaughter the clan for Konoha. He saw his innocence draining away. He watched as he strived for his best, growing arrogant.

He seemed happy in team 7, before he turned his back and betrayed them and his home.

He lent his body to the devil, the snake, to train. He slaughtered many in cold blood. He watched in horror as his face remained unflinching as he killed person after person. The screen finally dropped on Itachi's last fight and his death. After the scene of the council, Sasuke trembled as he defeated his brother, taking joy at Itachi's death. Maybe Itachi's heart wasn't stone. Maybe, just maybe, it was his own.

"Kaa-san…" I whispered.

"Yes?" Her voice was grim as I finished watching my life fly by.

"Kaa-san. I really did make the sky rain blood…"
