For those who do not know, Tom is Iris's companion. Panda is a talking, sentient panda toy owned by Tom.
This story is told from Panda's viewpoint.
They call me heartless. Me, heartless! Never was a statement more untrue.
A stuffed toy I may be, but I certainly am not just any stuffed toy. I have feelings, emotions, opinions. And, dare I say it, a soul.
Which leads me to Tom.
Tom is thoughtless, annoying, and self-absorbed. He often forgets about me or acts embarrassed by my behaviour.
Yet I will never, of my own volition, leave him.
I would not alter him.
That fact alone, I posit, proves that I possess a heart. It may fit inside a toy-sized body, but it is still a heart.
