This is just my thoughts on what happened during Albus's Sorting.
Disclaimer: If I was JKR, I would have written this scene for the book, and not post it on some fan fiction site.
"But if it matters to you, you'll be able to choose Gryffindor over Slytherin. The Sorting Hat takes your choice into account."
Albus remembered these words as he heard Professor Longbottom read off 'Potter, Albus', and he step up to the podium, without fear, but with confidence.
The mangy, decrepit hat came to rest upon the little boy's ears.
Another Potter? Where to put you, where to put you?
Albus sat silently, waiting for his first assessment at Hogwarts.
Ah, some Weasley too, I see. You are much too brave and intelligent for Hufflepuff.
Albus heard the taps of feet in anxiety and trepidation, but did not respond.
Witty, but not creative, and not studious enough, for things come naturally to you. That means no Ravenclaw.
Albus winced when he knew his last to choices; Gryffindor or Syltherin.
Just like your father, eh? "Not Syltherin, not Slytherin!" right?
Albus told the hat, I do not care to where you put me, for I know that it will be right for me.
Remember, you have a choice! You can choose Gryffindor!
Albus simply replied, I want you to decide
If your sure, murmured the Hogwartsartifact Better be...
"GRYFFINDOR!"
The tension was blow out of the Hall by the thunderous claps erupting from the Gryffindor Table, where Albus promptly took his rightful place.

Years later, Albus would ask the Hat why he was put in Gryffindor. The Sorting Hat's reply would be that he stood up to his own fear and exhibit true bravery by not choosing his house, but it choosing him.
Okay, I finally got that out of my system. It has been bugging me that people put him in Slytherin. I even changed my penname for awhile to show my side on this argument. If you agree with me, you can (I am not pressuring you to) review and say that you agree. Thanks!
