I walk with my Mother and Katniss, slowly making my way to the town square, for yet another reaping. Two more of the innocent children from our town to go on the Capital train. Where we will soon watch them be slaughtered in the arena by Older stronger tributes. I wonder if I'll see someone I know, my friends, our neighbors, Katniss? Oh if the tribute is Katniss I don't know what I'll do. She will be gone for such a long time with those capitalists. But with her incredible skill I know she'll win the Hunger Games if she's ever chosen as a tribute. After all she's the one who provides food for me and Mom every night. I feel rather strange wearing the skirt and blouse that she wore for her first reaping, Mommy had to pin them for me. They are still too big for me; just like her shadow. I could never live up to be the amazing, and extraordinarily skilled sister she is today. We arrive at the square were I leave Mom and Katniss to go stand with the other twelve year old tributes. They play the anthem and the Mayor tells of the history of Panama, How after the war a shining capital and twelve districts survived and still stand today. Then a super peppy lady, with a pink bubble gum wig on her head jumped on stage to draw the tributes. Acting as though the Hunger Games were a happy educational and organized game for two year olds. As she reaches her hand in I pray that all our good friends and neighbors be safe for one more year. (And hopefully my one ballot stays hidden) And even more importantly Katniss. Please don't pick Katniss Everdeen, Please don't pick Katniss Everdeen, please, please, please don't pick Katniss Everdeen. The pink hair Lady pulls a ballot out and reads it, I hold my breath… Prim Everdeen. Me no , no no no no no, it cant be me. Everyone turns and looks at me, I see myself on the big screen on national television. I want to run, run as fast as I can as far away as I can. I imagine all the peacekeepers chasing me and tackling me to the ground, I would surely die right then and there. I force my feet to walk forward to the stage so I wont get in trouble. Everyone in the audience is dead silent watching my every step. As I approach the stage the crowd begins to rustle, someone grabs me and stops me in my tracks. I turn to see a familiar face that I could recognize anywhere. I… I volunteer, to to take her place. Katniss, no she cant volunteer I wont let her, as the pink hair lady says something about order I scream and yell for her not to. I can't can't let katniss take my place she's already done more than everything for me. More than anyone could ever want. I grab her and yell using all the air in my lungs telling her not to go. I can see in her eyes she's holding back her tears with all her strength. She yells at me to let go but I don't I will never let go. Someone grabs me, a peacekeeper going to drag me off to my death. But I see Gale. Why… why would he stop me, I'm only trying to protect Katniss, doesn't he care about her? He hold me back, while she walks on stage. The tears pour out dripping down my face. She can't leave, she just can't…
