Remus preferred to spend Valentines day with his nose in a book or his mouth around some chocolate. He thought, while he devoured his bar of Honeydukes chocolate, that Sirius was probably chasing some skirt. He sighed. He honestly wished that Sirius was with him. He wanted to see his charming smile, his gorgeous blue eyes, wanted to hear his voice. He sighed again, and bit off another piece of chocolate. Another Valentines alone, he thought, nothing new.
Sirius was pacing outside the common room, trying to figure out what he should say. He was nervous. More like scared. Scared of what his best friend would say, when he asked him. He stood still and stared at a wall. "Come on, Black. You can do this. For Merlins sake, stop being a wuss." He took a deep breath, whispered the password and walked in.
Remus stopped attacking the bar and looked at the portrait hole. "Hey!" Remus said brightly. "Hi there, Moony." Sirius was unconsciously tapping his leg, body filled with nerves. He sat down on the chair opposite Remus, perching on the edge. "So Remus.." Remus stared at him intently. "I wanted to ask you something.." "Of course, Pads. Shoot." Sirius paused and glanced down at his hands. "I was just wondering.. If you.. Uhh.. If you.." "Come on, Sirius, I haven't got all day." Remus joked, sporting an adorable grin.
Sirius took a deep breath, got down on one knee and took Remus' free hand in his own. "Remus Lupin, will you do me the honour of being my Valentine." Few audible gasps could be heard, but Sirius wasn't paying attention. He was staring intently into Remus' eyes, waiting for an answer. "I.. I don't... Yes! Of course! Yes!" He grabbed Sirius and pulled him up into a long, sweet hug. In the background Gryffindor girls were squealing and commenting on how cute they were. The boys on the other hand just stood there open-mouthed and in shock.
They broke apart, Sirius taking the chance to intertwine a hand with his. "So... Hogsmeade?" Remus leant in and gave him a chaste kiss on the lips. "It's a date."
