This was an idea that I've had on my mind for a bit, and I finally got around to typing it up. So read, enjoy, and please leave a review of how you think I did! (But nothing too negative, I don't want any hate mail!)

There was nothing she could do. He was dead, and death came swiftly, bullets hitting major organs, death was almost instant. She looked at blue eyes, a shocked face, and couldn't believe he was dead.
"No!" she cried out, "No! Please don't be dead! You mean the world to me! Please don't die!"
He had brought her from the depression and coldness she had been in when she was surviving on her own, assured in the fact that she could never find love again. He made her laugh, and brought a much-needed positive light to her life. But he had been caught in the bullet fire; he pushed her away from the oncoming bandits in an attempt to save her life. The bandits she then swiftly dispatched of; severing the throat of one, and brutally killing the others. She cried, deeply and despairingly, wishing she could bring him back to life.

"Hey, Finn, come on honey, wake up" someone said, the voice cutting into her dreams.
She woke up to her surprise, crying, and looking into Carson's concerned face. "Oh thank god, I thought you were dead!" she sobbed, holding onto him.
"Hey, shh, it's okay, it was just a dream. I'm not dead love, I'm here, and I'll always be here for you," he said, holding her and rubbing circles onto her back.
"I had the worst dream, that you died, and I couldn't save you… It was the worst feeling ever, like someone broke my heart in two."
"Well, whoever did that to me in your dream, they're long gone, and nothing will ever separate us, I promise you" he replied.
She then stopped crying, and took a deep breath. "Thanks… I really needed to hear something like that. Can you please hand me that glass of water?"
"Sure, of course", he replied, grabbing it off the nightstand. She drank it, and then gave the glass back to him.
"I'm going to try and go back to sleep, hopefully to better dreams," she said.
He hugged her tight against him and said, "I hope you do, but if you have another bad dream, I'll be here to chase it away. Sleep well, my love."
They then exchanged a small kiss, and she moved closer to him, pulling the sheet tighter against them.

Maybe bad dreams aren't so terrible, if you can wake up to the kindest person ever telling you that everything is going to be okay.
