Lucy wasn't...

Lucy liked Natsu. She liked his wide grin, his almost ardent look, when he was preparing to fight, she even liked listening to his voice.

But unfortunately, she wasn't Lisanna.

For the first time she noticed that in his gaze. During the one of the guild's party he spoke with her like he usually did, but his eyes looked different. But she didn't want to think about this so she ignored that disturbing feeling and even invited Lisanna to their table. Everybody enjoyed the party, Natsu was so happy.

Only later, when he walked her home and wished good night, he twisted her name a bit, but he quickly corrected himself. He smiled apologetically and he went his own way. Though Lucy still convinced herself that his mistake didn't matter, that it was only because of the late hour and the party, Natsu's words still sounded in her mind "Good night, Lis... Lucy".

Lucy wasnt't Lisanna. She didn't want to be her.

Later she naturally paid more attention to his relationship with Lisanna. Only now she noticed that Natsu often looked at Lisanna's side, as if regligently, by accident. Just recently she realized that when Lisanna comed to approached them, Natsu smiled more often. Lucy understood this and that's why, despite all of this, she was happy, because she could be his friend at least. That's was enough for her.

But one day it was Natsu who wanted more. She saw him smiling to her more often. It was her, who cought his attention. Supposedly nothing has changed in their relationship, but Lucy felt a change insensible for somebody else. Natsu had his specific reactions and catchphrases when he talked with Lisanna. He never used them when he talked to somebody else, it was something obvious. But this time he started to talk that way to Lucy and he didn't see anything bad in it. But Lucy knew and at the same time she didn't want to know.

Lucy wasn't Lisanna. She didn't want to pretend to be her.

Natsu's gaze became different. It was quite similar, but at the same time that of a stranger, unknown to Lucy. It was the gaze reserved to Lisanna. Lucy sometimes wondered why Natsu spent time and did the mission with her, not with Lisanna. These questions sometimes made her not being able to sleep.

She understood that when another mission was finished. The answer was obvious, so maybe that's why Lucy didn't get this earlier. Lisanna turned away from Natsu. Firstly she spent two years in Edolas and now, when she finally came back home, she spent most time with her siblings or on mission. Lisanna couldn't stay with Natsu that long like she used to in the past, even if he was still important to her.

Lucy wasn't Lisanna. She didn't want to become her copy for Natsu.

Lucy liked Natsu. She liked his wide grin, his almost ardent look, when he was preparing to fight, she even liked listening to his voice. But she wasn't going to fool herself or Natsu. They were friends and though it hurt Lucy, she didn't want to change anything.
