Father Knightroad never claimed to be the perfect priest, nor the perfect man; in fact he wasn't even human. If his other half influenced his personality he never expressed or revealed it to anyone. The only thing that really stood out about him was the fact that he liked thirteen sugars in his tea. Everyone just assumed it was a long lasting addiction, but no one really knew the reason behind the gruesome cocktail. Whenever Abel drank his tea he would look grimly into the small white saucer reading something no one else could. Each sugar represented his sins.
-The first cube represented his early life when he said he hated humans and would destroy the world
-The second was for fighting with Cain, making Seth cry, and hurting Lilith's faith in him
-The third was for trusting Cain, who killed his beloved Lilith
-The fourth was for not being strong enough to save her
-The fifth was for not killing Cain, and unleashing him upon the earth
-The sixth was for abandoning Seth to save the Methuselah on her own
-The seventh was for vowing never to kill again, but being forced to do it anyway
-The eighth was for not being able to save Esther from Dietrich's betrayal
-The ninth was for scaring Esther with his other form
-The tenth was for his jealousy when Ion got close to his Esther
-The eleventh was for not feeling sorry when Ion almost died
-The twelfth was for making Esther cry when he died
-And the thirteenth was for not telling her he loved her every single day.
It didn't matter if people thought he was weird or even crazy, he would always take thirteen sugars with his tea because they would forever remind him of his past, present, and future sins.
