Deep space was silent. I never thought human kind could go so far in such a
short while. "This 'faster than light technology' is great huh?" I asked
Kennie. "Huh? Yeah sure" he mumbled. Guess I woke him up. I was doing some
paper work and I quickly shot a glance toward my gun. I think some target
practice can get my mind off of those things.
Target practice did little to calm my nerves. The first time I saw it, big,
black and merciless. I saw what it did to that scientist. Faster, stronger
and more powerful than I could have ever imagined. That colony was
completely destroyed. Every last civilian, scientist and marine were either
dead or missing. I guess the thing wasn't so tough. A few well-placed
rounds and our new armor was more than enough, I think.
Empty. I wasted the whole clip and I didn't hit anything. My aim is never this bad. I walked down the corridor and straight into the testing lab. The thing looked bigger up close. I went back into my room and decided to finish the paperwork. "All done" said Kennie. "Lazy ass, I always got to finish your shit" he retorted. "Damn its boring, nothing to do except sleep and target practice. They haven't even put in the internet" I wined. "Yeah it really does suck living in one of the 'new' state of the art piece of crap ship" he continued. Kennie went into the 'park' while I stayed back to see when we were going to get that Internet we were promised. Note came in saying someone onboard could be a traitor and want our new bio weapon for another country. Damn, not again. I turned on the monitor in the test lab to see how things were going. Two of the scientists were shot and a man wearing a lab coat accidentally opened the chambers from were the thing was located at. Shit. It hit me like a bullet. I gasped in fear when I saw him get ripped in half like some piece of tissue paper. It spilled blood everywhere but it kept him somewhat intact. I went straight for the locker and quickly fumbled for my armor and my gun. Once I had it on Kennie ran into the room too. We were scared shitless and couldn't think straight. "All marine personnel report to Lab immediately Laboratory breach" I almost threw up at the thought of the Alien. Then I remembered that the only escape was to the destroyed colony which was our only choice and the only place were we can call for help if things get out of hand. Then I vomited.
