I walked out onto the stage afraid to relive those horrifying moments. It wasn't bad enough that I woke up crying because of what I did to that girl. How I cut her throat without a second thought.

"Ladies and gentlemen it would do me great honor to introduce our 77th Hunger Games victor, Silk!" Caesar Flickerman announced with a smile on his face.

As I walked across the stage I realized that I was in fact a killer. I had won because 23 others had died. The odds were in my favor the day I won. The re-cap of the games began. I started to fidget with the end of my dress remembering the games too vividly.

There one reason and one reason only as to why I won these games and that reason being that I had been a smart, heartless killer. When the gong first sounded I ran towards the Cornucopia. I was pretty skinny and had very long lanky legs. I'm barely 14 and I knew this was going to be a life or death fight just because I decided to grab a couple of knives. I ran across the arena towards my target.

"What were you thinking when you decided to risk your life to go to the Cornucopia?" Caesar asked with curiosity.

"Ummmm…I knew how to work a knife because my parents own a butcher shop in District 8 so I figured that was my best bet. I thought if I could get them and run as far from everyone else I would be fine," I explained. The words came out of my mouth before I had a chance. "Caesar, would you like to know my strategy?"

"If you don't mind, Silk" Caesar said.

"Well as I was saying, I knew how to work a knife which is why I wanted one. When I had finally reached them my first thought was to get out of there but something stopped me. I turned and that's when I was tackled to the ground from that boy in District 5. He grabbed one of the three knives I was holding and held it up to kill me. That's when the girl from District 6 stopped him. He died right on top of me. I rolled his body off of mine and looked at the girl to see her next move. She turned to run and I followed. We made an unofficial alliance and then we just camped by the river. Then there were three. As you know, one night when it was my turn to keep watch. I couldn't stand of not being here to I killed her." When I was finishing the story I spoke quicker.

"Well ladies and gentlemen, I believe that's all the time we have. Good night." Caesar smiled at the camera, shook my hand and we said our goodbyes.

I got off stage and cried as I remembered that I killed the only friend I'd ever made. Thankfully I was out.
