Here's a drabble. May be the first of a series of observations by others.

Ruminations

I.

He breaks their silence.

"What's with you and Roslin?"

Adama doesn't respond.

"Listen," Cottle persists, "you've never had any sense when it came to women. Luck, maybe - but sense? Not an ounce! You think she's a good idea?"

"You're asking because...?"

"Call it curiosity."

"You're looking for gossip."

He shrugs. "I'll take truth, if you're offering."

Adama's eyes meet his.

"Gods," the doctor mutters. "It's true."

"Depends upon what you've heard."

"That you're involved. Heavily, if you catch my drift."

A nod. "I guess so."

"You guess?"

"It's complicated."

Cottle snorts. "No kidding."

The two men settle back into silence.
