It was summer; four years had gone since Matthew had passed. Mary had finally made her peace with it, so when Lord Gillingham had proposed to her she had accepted.
Mrs Hughes and Mr Carson had finally admitted their love for each other, and on a sunny day in May they had gotten married.
Two years had passed since Mr. Green died and Anna and John had moved on. Mr. and Mrs. Bates had learned how to deal with the disaster, and were now living their life really happily.
Anna and John had just woken up and lay and cuddled as John put his hand on Anna's naked arm. She smiled and kissed him on the lips as she putted her hand in his hair. Then they parted from each other and she looked into his eyes. She loved how friendly they looked when he was smiling.
"I love you Mr bates"
"And I love you Mrs bates, I never getting tired of hearing that name on you. That reminds me that you're mine, darling"
"I'll always be yours, my heart belongs to you, only" Anna sat up, ready to get on with her day when suddenly she felt a strong wave of nausea.
"Oh, I don't feel very well" she mumbled as she ran towards the bathroom. Before she knew it, John was there, holding back her hair as she threw up.
A few minutes later, when she had rinsed her mouth and washed her face, she turned to John and said"I´m sorry about that, I don´t know what happened". John looked her in the eyes, and she could see his concern as he asked "How are you feeling? Are you okay?"
She waited a few seconds before she replied. "Yes, I just I felt sick so fast. I felt good, and then 2 seconds later I didn't. I've never felt like that before"
"I think you should go to Mr Clarkson, to be on the safe side. Do you want me to follow you there?"
"Yes, thank you but first I think we should put on some clothes." She felt relieved that she did not have to go down to the hospital by herself; she never did like doctor visits.
The weather was lovely; summer would be there any week now. Anna and John walked in a comfortable silence all the way down to the cottage-hospital, and just before they were about to go in John kissed her on the forehead and said "Anna, I'll wait here for you."
"Okay, I'll be back soon, probably to tell you that I am all right." She gave him a quick smile and then she went in to the examine room.
The wait felt like hours, and all john could do was to worry, worry about what the problem could be, worry about what he would do if his wife was actually sick.
When she returned she looked as if she has something important to tell him. He could feel his heart speed up as he prepared himself for the news.
"So? What did he say?" John asked his wife.
"It's not a disease, John."
"What? What is it then?" He weren't sure if his heart could beat any faster than it did at that moment.
"Uhm… Mr bates, I'm pregnant"
