"If it's a girl, Norma? If it's a boy, Norman Jr?" Norman Bates asked. Leigh White looked up at Norman, not sure if he was joking or if he were serious. Leigh rolled her eyes and drummed her ball point pen against the check in counter of the Bate's Motel office. Below her, a legal pad sat. On the top line, the word names sat.

"Your mom's name or your name?" giggled Leigh. "Norman, this child is going to be stuck with the name we choose for the rest of their life...unless they change it when their eighteen."

He bit his lower lip, one of the moves he did that landed them in this situation. "I like the name Cody," spoke Norman. This time she knew he was serious. Leigh smiled at him. Norman smiled at Leigh.

"That'd be a beautiful name for either gender," she smiled.

Norman slid behind the counter and snuggled up to Leigh, placing his hand on her swollen stomach. "Cody Norma/Norman Bates," Norman sighed happily. Even though the middle names made Leigh cringe, they were just the middle name.
