Authors Note: This was just a simple little story that I wrote in band, when I didn't have my instrument.
Remembrance
She slowly walked towards him, feeling as though the stretch of land between them was growing with every step she took. She kept her eyes locked on his beautiful face, hoping that the sight of it would calm her. She never looked away, not even when she heard the sobs of a woman beside her.
She would remember this day for the rest of her life. She would remember the way his face broke into that adorable, lop-sided grin. She would remember the feeling as her Dad kissed her cheek, aware that he hugged her just a little bit tighter than usual. She would remember the prickling in her eyes, and the way he hesitantly lifted his thumb to gently brush her jaw line. But most of all she would remember the sound of his voice as his words reverberated through the air. A sound filled with love, passion, anxiety, and complete and utter happiness.
She felt his promise in that one kiss. A promise that she knew would never be broken. She looked into his pale, blue eyes as the man beside her asked the question. Her mind was screaming the answer, causing the sensation in her eyes to become more intense.
"I do" was all she said, but she knew that he had heard "forever" in those simple two words.
