Author's Note: I wrote this earlier today to relieve myself of my frustrations, so I hope that it isn't too cryptic or difficult to interpret. I decided to post it here, because, despite its indirect connections to FMA, it has a theme that's particular to the anime.

Three sitting statues bide for a blue moon
To cast away the ruffled cracks of yesterday's past.
Alone, they wait together -
Stoic and strong.
Together, they huddle alone -
Restless and snug.
The anticipation crumbles the first monument;
The fantasy smashes the third.
The second stiffens itself high,
And gazes at the rubble compassionately reflected from respite's mortal eye...
...Waiting for all that was lost to return once again.
