Stow Away. (Is This Target Insane?)

Prologue:

The Fates are a cruel bunch in which one should not get involved with at any costs. They twist and turn the lives around us black, tasteless, and colorless. Few are exempted from this little circle...

A young girl with dark, midnight blue hair that fell to her shoulders walked stiffly through the streets of a small town whose name had escaped her memory for the moment. Her eyes were hidden as she hung her head in despair, unable to find the one thing that was precious to her. A small, blue floppy-eared rabbit plush with a faded checkered pattern on his ears, a fluffy black scarf around his neck, and small, sideways top hat with a rose on the rim lay on the corner of the same crowded streets that young girl had been wandering. She screamed in joy as she found him and hugged him tightly so as not to drop him. This rabbit had been the one treasure someone had been nice enough to give to her without expecting anything in return.

The girl's eyes darkened as she remembered the face of her once beloved friend though no one could tell. That one boy who had been kind enough to gift her the doll. The one who was now gone. The one who had suddenly vanished from her life. Just like that. She could just picture his perfect smile. She could hear his enchanting laugh echoing throughout the street. The lonely little girl knew it was just her imagination, her desire to be with him again and to ceice the loneliness that ate away at her from the inside out.

She straightened out her small, black checkered dress and looked around. The street was slowly emptying as night began to fall. If she didn't hurry, the little girl would be lost in the dark streets where anoyone could get to her.

"Alright, Sir Aoi. It's time to go home!" she chimed to the little bunny. With this, she began her short trek home. A smile was in place as she marched through the town. Swinging the rabbit along happily, she marched and marched until she came upon the doorstep to her small abode. Still, she couldn't have helped but wonder...

How would things have been if he had stayed with her?
