A/N: This is my tribute to the amazing Donna Noble! I think I might be the only person who liked her from the very beginning. As in The Runaway Bride beginning. And after series 4 I absolutely loved her, of course. Sooo, please enjoy, I'm not sure how spot on I am with her character, so I'd appreciate feedback of all sorts. Thanks!

Disclaimer: It's not mine. (sob) But it will be. (crazy smile)

Donna Noble was nothing special. She was just an ordinary woman sitting in an airport terminal in Egypt.

She'd expected that Egypt would be some great adventure for her. She'd imagined herself trekking across the dessert to see pyramids on camel-back, chatting up charming foreigners, having adventures and well, just being magnificent. She'd gone barefoot and everything!

But once you've seen the Earth formed in a whirlwind of dust and rock, things like pyramids and sphinxes just aren't that impressive. And now here she was, about to go home and return to a life of temping and a nagging mum. Not exactly what you'd call walking in the dust.

Lance had been right. She was thick. A life of a boring job where she'd made nothing of herself and she'd gone and blown the best thing to ever happened to her. She must've been mad to turn down that offer!

"I was stuck with a woman who thinks the height of excitement is a new flavored pringle!"

Donna heaved a sigh and stood up. She needed to stretch her legs. Leaving her bags where she could see them, she wandered about the terminal until she spotted a map of the world hanging by a small sandwich shop. She couldn't help grin as she realized how small the Earth was. All that great big universe out there, and they just had this tiny little ball, spinning through space! All that space out there...she wondered which planet The Doctor was from? Mars did always seem a bit...cliché.

"Oh, Brad and Angelina, is Posh pregnant, X factor, Atkins diet, feng shui, split ends, text me, text me, text me - dear god, the never-ending fountain of fat, stupid trivia!"

But then, she wasn't exactly going to see him again, was she? Nope, no big wide universe for her, she was stuck on Earth. Still, Earth was quite large, she supposed. Lots of interesting places. More interesting than Egypt, she hoped. She couldn't go anywhere in the universe, and that was her own fault.

"God she's thick! Months I've had to put up with her, months! A woman who can't even point to Germany on a map!"

But she could go anywhere on Earth. She closed her eyes tightly, and raised her hand in the air. Anywhere on Earth. She paused for a moment, only to worry about ending up in the middle of the ocean, and then quickly brought a pointed finger down on to the map to see where she should go next.

Donna slowly opened her eyes and looked. Like I'll be able to afford another big holiday. Her arm was stretched out dramatically in front of her, and her finger was pointing at...Germany.

It took a second for Donna to take it in, and then she stood back, and grinned, happiness bubbling up inside of her. She walked to her bags with a new spring in her step, and even offered a smile to the man in the sandwich shop as Lance's voice disappeared from her mind forever.

She was going to find him.

Hope you enjoyed. :)
