Fujiko shook her head. Trying with all her heart to convince herself that
she.No! She stamped her foot, almost to accentuate her point she had made
in her head. No, she, Fujiko Mine, was certainly, completely and UTTERLY
NOT in love with Lupin III! And yet.
She turned her head, a tear streaking down her cheek. Alright, she
said, bringing her hand up to wipe the tear away, I am in love. I'm in love
with Lupin III. But.He doesn't.he can't.And she flung herself onto her bed,
and wept.
~~*In a restless world like this is
Love is ended before it's begun
And too many moonlight kisses
Seem to cool in the warmth of the sun*~~
Lupin sighed. Again. For the tenth time in.He looked down at his
watch - 5 minutes. Looking up at the pale moon above his balcony, Lupin's
mind began to wander. Onto a certain woman. With a few certain.A wolfin
grin stretched his lips.curves.Another sigh as he thought about the woman
of his dreams. All the right curves in all the right places.And a mind to
match, he thought with a snort. He could never figure that girl out! One
moment, she's fawning over him, all lovey-dovey - and the next, he's flat
on his face, with pieces of his heart scattered around the world.
Resting his head on his arms, Lupin sighed resignedly. He had
promised himself.never to fall.in love.
But, boy, he though, is it way too late for that.

Fujiko opened the door to her veranda, her tears finally dry. She
looked longingly out into the night sky, her thoughts returning to the one
that had stolen her heart, along with so much more. Standing outside,
watching the clouds drift lazily across the sky, she forgot the time
completely. When she returned to her senses, it had already been half an
hour, and the warm night was quickly turning much chillier.
Rubbing her arms softly, Fujiko moved to go back into her room.
Turning, she closed the veranda doors quietly.
"You know, you shouldn't leave doors open like that - someone might
take it as an invitation." A familiar voice said smoothly from behind her.
Lanky arms slithered around her waist, holding her gently. Fujiko took a
moment to recover from her shock - and not a little bit of exultation at
the man's presence - before turning to scold him.
"Lupin, how dare."

The rest of the reprimand died on her lips. Faces only inches apart,
Fujiko couldn't help but drown in the thief's eyes - twin black pools,
deeper than any ocean Fujiko had ever seen. And there, settled in the
center of them, was the answer to so many of her questions - Oh, he did.!
She didn't remember putting her arms around him, but she had -
bringing her hands up behind his head, she whispered just before their lips
met.
"Oh Lupin.I."
She never got a chance to finish her sentence.

Content in each other's arms, the lovers didn't notice the shooting
star that flew across the sky.
