Derek slipped a small black box into my hand under the table. I glanced up at him, but he was ignoring me by having a conversation with Simon. I opened the box, still hidden under the table's shadow. A round diamond glistened back at me. I gasp, and looked up to see Derek smiling down at me.
"So, is that a yes?" He ask, still afraid of rejection. I couldn't speak . I glanced at Tori, who despite her abhorrence for him returned my look with one that said she knew all along. Simon's shocked face told a different story. Derek was staring at me, waiting on my answer, and his bright eyes were dimming. He thought my lack of response meant no.
"Yes!" I burst, jumping at him. Of course his strong arms caught me quickly and his deep chuckle rang through the house. Simon snapped out of his frozen state and began to congratulate us. Tori had vanished from the room but I wasn't worried about it.
"Yes!!!!! Derek of course I will!" I said through a bombard of kisses.
"Chloe! Congratulations!" Liz said, slinging her arms around us, which went through us, of course.
"Thanks Liz!" I said, informing the others she was there. Tori returned, pulling me off Derek and heading into the other room. I stole one last kiss from my new fiancé before complying.
It was midnight and after 6 hours of nonstop questioning from Tori, our wedding was almost planed. In 14 months, Derek and I would be married. It would be a small quite wedding with just us four, Derek, Simon, Tori and I, plus Derek's dad and mine. The back yard of our safe house would be decorated and converted into whatever Tori thought it should look like, Tori was going to help me pick out a dress and veil. The rest she was left to argue Derek over.
"Chloe, wake up, we're no where near done." Tori growled. I huffed.
"Can't we finish this tomorrow? I'm tired." I complained.
"Fine, but you have to get this done." Tori agreed.
"Okay." I said, enthusiastically jumping from the couch and stumbling over my feet. I braced my self to hit the ground but a strong arm caught around my waist.
"Walk much." his deep chuckle rang around me. I fell back against his muscled chest.
"Are you done with her now?" Derek asked Tori, sarcastically.
"Yes, Do what you will. She's all your's until tomorrow." Tori said rolling her eyes at him.
"Good." Derek mumbled. In one quick movement he through me over his shoulder and was racing up the stairs. I squealed as he through me lightly on my bed, Derek kissed me softly and tossed the covers over my head. I groaned disappointed and peeked out of the blanket.
"You need sleep." he smiled before he closed the door. I could \hear him go into to his room, grab his clothes and head to the bathroom for a shower. In a few months, he wouldn't have to leave. He would be my husband. I would be, Mrs. Derek Souza.
