"It's raining again," Iruka said quietly as he was the first to break the silence. They were in a hospital room, which was a common place for Kakashi to be in, even though Iruka didn't like it. "What do you think is going to happen?"
"I don't know," Kakashi replied quietly as he looked at the man with his back to him. "What do you think is going to happen?"
"I don't know either – it's why I asked you," Iruka said quietly. "I don't like the fact that there's a new Hokage. I know it's been a while, but I don't like him. It should have been you."
"One is needed though," Kakashi said as he stretched. He kept his face void of emotion as he heard what Iruka said. He wasn't quite sure how to take it, really. He knew from his talks with the Fifth Hokage that there was a chance it would be him. She joked with him about it, but he didn't like the chances of where it was going – that it was bad luck. iAnd she would just say that was the luck that she gave/i he remembered with a wistful smile. "Iruka – it will be what it will be. I know most don't like the Sixth Hokage, but he is Hokage. We need to treat him with respect."
"That is my plan, of course," Iruka said with a smile. "There's nothing else to really do, save for thinking about the future."
Kakashi nodded a yes and motioned for Iruka to come and sit down next to him. Iruka did so, smiling a bit more as Kakashi gave him a one armed hug. "And we'll get through it together, like we always have and always will."
"Agreed," Iruka said quietly as he just watched the rain, keeping close to Kakashi.
