Chapter 1
A/N: Hi! This is my first HTTYD fanfiction so be nice! Also, although there are some HTTYD2 spoilers in here, Stoick is alive in my fanfiction. This is my first time writing in a while so I might be a bit rusty. Enjoy!

Berk. An island twelve days north of hopeless, a few degrees south of freezing to death and located solidly on the Meridian of Misery where, unfortunately, it snows nine moths of the year and hails the other three.
Currently, Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III, son of Stoick, Chief of Berk, and Valka, his wife, was taking a casual stroll with his dragon Toothless, a Night Fury. Hiccup still could not believe how much had changed since the feud between Vikings and Dragons ended. 5 years later, he and his best friend had defeated Drago Bludvist and been made Chief and Alpha respectively.
Dragons bowed as Toothless walked past, and sometimes, hatchlings would ask to play with him. The Alpha could never refuse, of course, as he loved children.
Suddenly, Barf and Belch, the Zippleback belonging to the Thorston twins, flew in.
"Hi!" both heads greeted at once.
"Hey, twins." Toothless returned, accustomed to the twin headed dragons' antics, especially taking their owners into consideration. "What's new?"
The twins tried to explain, but the Zippleback was so excited that it was hard to understand them.
Hiccup calmed the dragon down, and gave them both a branch so they could draw what's got them so excited.
The Zippleback instead decided to lead the best friends to what they found instead which, little did they know, would lead to a life changing discovery….
