Echoes ~x
Deep within my dream I heard his voice, the voice that had become an almost permanent element to my dreams, even if he himself hardly ever appeared, I longer for that to once again enter my subconscious. His words has never been clear that what made this dream special, this time his worlds where perfectly clear
"Hinamori…I'm sorry, I've failed, Please pull through, and I'll protect you that's a promise!"
Those words rung deeply within me, I was still unsure what had caused my heart to stir in such a way when I realised I could his hand on mine, was I awake? Bracing myself for a disappointment, I attempted to move my hand slightly, my stomach jolted as I felt my hand tighten on his, he was cold as usual, it took me only a few minutes to realise what an uproar my tiny movement had made, a whole load of voices filled my head the closets I recognised now as Unohana-Taichou
"Hinamori-kun? Are you awake, Can you hear me?" that question felt as if it had been repeated many times before I was able to slowly open my eyes the light of the room stung almost as much as the healing would I'd gained due to this foul war taking in the scene before me, Unohana was leaning over me joined by 8th seat Ogido and her lieutenant Isane, my gaze wandered pass their welcoming faces and focused on Rangiku who was stood slightly further back a look of excitement on her face, next to her stood the person who had been in my dreams for as long as I had been asleep, carefully parting my lips the words came flowing out groggy and weaker than I had interpreted
"Sh-Shiro-chan?" the white haired captain instantly rushed forward, I couldn't help but reach out for him, I couldn't either help the small smile that tugged at the corner of my mouth as I how glad he was I'd called for him, I could see the corner of his mouth turning up into a soft smile I noticed the slightly twinkle in his eyes, the sign of relief as he took a hold of my hand and sat next to me
We both sat in almost complete silence as everyone except Unohana and Toushiro left the room, Rangiku promising to come back later.
Hitsugaya's gentle smile quickly turned crooked as he suddenly spoke ignoring Unohana who was checking the many machines I was hooked up to
"It's Captain Hitsugaya you know" he corrected my first words from a few minutes earlier squeezing my hand comfortingly, I couldn't help but smile even more as his somewhat half-hearted scolding, I'd never of admitted it, but at that moment my heart had stirred in a way it had never done before.
