Hey. I hardly ever write fics or drabbles, but this random idea popped into my head while half asleep. It might actually convince me to write more!

Disclaimer: I don't own the series.

He's Seen It All

It was a warm day in Central, warmer than average the newspapers said. The windows were open fully but in truth, it made no difference to the boiling heat within the Colonel's office. Lieutenant Havoc was currently busy with trying to accomplish balancing his pen on one finger, but when it fell to the desk with a small thud, he decided to ask a question. Something had been bubbling away in his mind for a while now.

"Colonel, how much longer do you think it will be before you become Fuhrer?" He asked nonchalantly, gaining the attention of his colleagues. The Colonel looked up from his paperwork, slightly irritated by the question. Havoc picked his pen up, attempting the feat of balancing it once again.

"I really don't think that's an appropriate question, Havoc," He said in controlled anger, sighing in defeat in response to the room's soaring temperature, "but why do you ask?"

Havoc's eyes trailed from his pen to his superior and a small mischievous smile crept onto his lips as he was reminded of the point to his question...

He'd seen it all. Lieutenant Jean Havoc knew, and no-one would believe him. Breda told him he was delusional and 'geez Havoc, stop watching them so much!'

The Lieutenant wished those two would just admit, and stop with the office antics of loving glances and the innocent brushing of fingers, and that oh-so heartbreaking 'desk stare' that Hawkeye had when the Colonel routinely told his subordinates about his weekend with a cute young brunette. Yeah, my brunette. Anyway, it was obvious, so plainly obvious that they loved each other more than they realised. Havoc seemed to be the only one conscious of the matter at hand.

Upon these thoughts, Havoc soon realised after a short time that it was impossible for them to be a couple and confess the inevitable because of the fraternization laws. Damn those laws. It would've been fairly easy to keep a relationship under wraps if done so very carefully, but another factor came into play. God, I really am thinking about this too much. It was Havoc's guess that Hawkeye wanted to try her hardest in helping the Colonel reach his goal before thinking of her own desires and risking everything. He also knew for a fact that the Colonel would abolish the fraternization laws the second he became Fuhrer. This was the basis of Havoc's question.

Then, Havoc thought, this may have had something to do with Mustang stealing his dates and being a general womanizer. A possible cover up? Most likely. Then he snapped back to reality.

But why my girlfriends? Sometimes, the most difficult questions just can't be answered...

Havoc's smile still in place, he answered, "Oh, no reason, sir," Mustang gave him a suspicious look, "It's just I might actually be able to get a girlfriend when you do."

Reviewing would be nice! Thank you! :)
