They were drawing nearer to Valinor. On the shore, a lone figure was looking out towards them and Galadriel smiled when she saw whom it was; Celebrían, healed and once again smiling.

Out of the corner of her eye, Galadriel suddenly noticed that her son-in-law had begun climbing over the bulwark.

"Elrond." She said, half outraged, half amused. "You can't…"

SPLASH!

"… Jump out of the ship and swim to shore. Okay, obviously he could."

Celebrían burst with laughter when she saw her husband jump out of the ship and begin swimming towards her, she was still laughing when he walked out of the water and she fell into his arms.

"I've missed you." He whispered into her hair.

"And I've missed you. Nevertheless, come on; let us get to the harbour. I assume the others in the ship will be arriving the traditional way."

Hand in hand, they walked the short distance towards Alqualondë where a large crowd was already gathering and was eagerly awaiting the arrival of the ship.

"Celebrían, there you are." King Olwë of the Teleri said, walking towards them, then he turned and looked at Elrond. "You must be Elrond. Swam to shore by the look of it."

"Yes." Elrond replied with a smile, answering both questions at the same time.

"Most people stay in the ships until they have docked at the harbour, but of course; my brother's descendants were always a bit eccentric."

"The same can be said about my brother's descendants." A new voice joined the conversation, and turning around Elrond and Celebrían could see the High King of the Noldor coming towards them together with his wife.

"Is your mother with the ship?" Eärwen asked her granddaughter.

"Yes. She looked rather funny when Elrond jumped out of the ship."

"How strange and wonderful to know we have a daughter again, beloved." Finarfin said with a smile before everyone turned their attention to the ship that was about to dock.

It was a joyful homecoming. The first to disembark was Galadriel who threw herself into the arms of her parents before turning the embrace her daughter, then Gandalf stepped ashore, and lastly came the two ring bearers; the older leaning on the younger for support.

"Welcome to Valinor, Bilbo Baggins and Frodo Baggins of the Shire. Here you may find rest and healing against all your weariness." Finarfin said with a smile before turning towards Gandalf. "And welcome home, Olórin, will you be keeping this guise?"

"Yes." Gandalf replied. "I've come to quite like it, and I will keep it in memory of all those who fought and died in the long struggle against Sauron."
