Three-hundred sixty-five days.
For 365 days, he was forced to be someone he wasn't.
He was forced to throw on a leather jacket, go out and take away a human's life.
Every. Single. Day. Of. The. Year.
It wasn't supposed to be like this.
It wasn't supposed to end up like this.
His life, that was once full of bliss and happiness,
was now the epitome of sad -
R U I N E D,
s.p.o.o.k.y.
It was his only chance of living a life.
And he failed -
miserably, at that.
It was all for a girl.
A beautiful,
sensitive
yet s e x y
girl.
But it turns out that he
a.s.s.u.m.e.d
way too early in the game.
Because, truly,
she was
s.e.l.f.i.s.h
H O R R I D
and
did something to him that was unforgivable.

Because he wasn't one to complain,
or be mad
for that matter.
All he wanted was j.u.s.t.i.c.e
since he wouldn't have gone for Katherine
if it wasn't for S T E F A N.
But his so-called brother just had to go and destroy e~v~e~r~y~t~h~i~n~g.
So that's why
his own life was turned *upsidedown*
having to pay for someone else's

And that's why he had to go through 364 days,
playing the role of a
cruel,
scary,
c.r.e.a.t.u.r.e
when he really wasn't ((anythinglikethat)).
But there's always a loophole.
Because on ten thirty-one,
he got to be someone else,
someone non-
frightening
and someone that you'd rather
kiss
than run away screaming from.
However, when time comes
for him to remove his costume
and go back to his
--normalvampiresuckingbloodways--
he totally dreads it.
Because when he removes his attire,
he has to wait another
three-hundred sixty-four
days
to throw away the v.a.m.p.i.r.e get-up
and pretend to be someone else –
someone better.
And that's a long time to wait.

A/N: Hello, hello, my lovelies. Are you having a fabulous week so far? Hope so, cuz my week has been crazy-hectic. And that's why I've had little to no writing time!
Anywho, since today is Halloween, I wanted to post out a one-shot. And what better fandom to celebrate ghouls, ghosts and vampires than the VD fandom, right?
And I know that my summary has… basically nothing to do with the drabble, but you'll just have to deal since I always write my summaries first, but then when I start typing out the story, it veers off-track.
