Riku always stood just out of reach to me. Sometimes, I thought of giving up hope that I would ever get him back as a best friend. Every time I thought I got close, Riku would seem to just push me away and go find a new hiding place.

Riku was taken by the darkness before I woke up. I tried to get passed the fact that it wasn't my fault, but I felt guilty he had to resort to relying so heavily on the darkness. He became one with Xehanort's Heartless, and that image bored holes into my memories... If it was or was not my fault that he had to do such a thing to himself, I didn't know...

He was released from his prison in his Heartless' body when the device DiZ created exploded... And then I noticed that he had a blindfold. After we followed Xemnas through the door, he told everyone that he was trying to hide from himself... "How'm I gonna face everyone?" He asked. And, me being me, I answered, "Like this!" And I squished my cheeks together. And he laughed...I couldn't remember the way he laughed...

We fought with Xemnas after that... Riku was strong. He didn't give up once, no matter how many times he was knocked down... We worked together to beat him, and it proved that was the strongest way. Around Riku, I felt strong. I knew that Riku would be there if I needed help, or if I was confused. He gave me power in a kind of way.

We were sitting on the beach of a place I'd never been before...at least, that's what I thought. Riku said he knew this place... I wasn't sure what to believe.. Xemnas was gone, and this was the beginning of the end of our journey... Everything came back in an implode when I thought it was just Riku and I talking, but it turned into...something else. He grabbed my shirt and pulled me closer to him, my heart swelling when his lips met mine. I could've taken him away from everything...I could've given him the world...and this was when I finally let it all go and gave everything I had to him... In a way, I was really in love with him, but at the same time, I considered him still like a best friend...confusion is such a tragedy...
