The mages sought to usurp heaven, but instead, they only destroyed it. They were cast out, twisted and cursed by their own corruption. Soon enough, they returned as monsters, the very first of the darkspawn. They became a Blight upon the land, unstoppable and relentless. Killing everyone, and everything the lay in their path. Burning down villages, towns, and forests. the screams of men, women, even children echoed. Some were killed, some were forced against their will, turning into darkspawn. Bodies were mangled and thrashed with blood everywhere, some impaled and sliced through, heads on a pike. It was disastrous. Not just men, and women, even the children were unmercifully torn apart and killed. Some even went as far as eating them. The Dwarven kingdoms were the first to fall, and from the Deep Roads, the darkspawn drove at us again and again, until we finally neared annihilation./p

Men and Women from every race, warriors, mages, barbarians, and even kings.. The Grey Wardens sacrificed everything to stem the tide of darkness, and prevailed. It has been four centuries since that victory, and we have kept our vigil. We have watched, and waited for the darkspawn to return once again. But the one's who once called us hero's, have forgotten. We are only few now, and our heeded warnings have been ignored for far too long now. It may even be too late, for I have seen what lies beyond the horizon./p

Dawn soon turned to Dusk, as he fights his way through the loud screeching darkspawn. Nightfall came, which made it much much harder to fight, so he dispersed himself into the forest, and built a campfire, using what lumber and wood he could scavenge, building the fire out of two rocks, and sits down, keeping his vigil. Screams from neighboring villages can be heard from afar, fire bursting through the air, screeching sounds of the darkspawn, clanging of the metal swords and axes being hit against each other, smoke fuming into his nose. It was like something taken from a nightmare, turned into a reality/p
