Hell Jumpers

Spartan- 501b ODST, Jason, was hurtling towards the ground of the planet Rinx. It was a cold planet, with one side being nearly completely covered in ocean and the other a barren wasteland, fields of ice separated the two. Jason didn't like the cold, it reminded him of death, which he had seen enough of. Jason was not dropping to his death though, he was falling alongside seven other ODST Spartans. There was trouble at the research facility on one of Rinx's many oceanic islands, a problem that the UNSC wasn't willing to risk a ship getting to near.

Jason had been rushed to the Eternal Sun, a human battle cruiser, just seven hours before. The eight members of his squad, Charlie Squad, were taken from their usual duties aboard and Husky Moon, a near twin to the Eternal Sun, on a no questions and no answers basis and all rushed into a small meeting room. It was there that they received their top secret orders. "Drop onto the island of Amos, infiltrate the research facility, recover the A.I. that resided there, and get out alive. The problem was what he and the rest of Charlie had to fight. Something he had only studied in school and was told to be exterminated from the galaxy.

Jason prepared for impact, and for his upcoming battle with the most feared creature to have ever lived... The Flood just wouldn't die.
