I broke one of my own fanfic writing rules writing this, albeit this
rule is only year or so old. I used Japanese in a fic. I'm against
using it, but my chibi!Van muse demanded that I did. Here are the
translations, though I think that everyone should know that they mean.
Aniue - What Van calls Folken. Older Brother, more formal and
archaic then Oniisan/Oniisama. Also more intimiate strangely enough.
Hahaue - Mother. Same as above, more formal and archaic then
Okaasan or Okaasama
Chichiue - Father. Same as above, more formal and archaic then
Otousan/Otousama.

He did not cry for anyone anymore.
Van had learned quickly that the people that he cried for did not
hear him nor did they come back. He wished that they would come back.
Balgus was not Chichiue. Merle was not old enough to take Hahaue's
place, besides, she was littler then he was and had fur. And there
was no one who could take Aniue's place.
Aniue was the one he had cried for most. Hahaue and Chichiue were
often too busy for the youngest prince and Aniue had been there the
most.
"Aniue," he wanted to cry. "Come back."
