A/n: Ok, so none of us ever got around to actually writing for the Marauders Christmas Challenge '06. Then I was flipping through some of my notebooks and came across this, which had a note off to the side that read, "poem type thing for Moony, for the x-mas challenge – part one – to be accompanied with serenity x-mas type story". Obviously I never got to writing the "serenity x-mas type story", lol, but here's the poem anyways. And other Marauders, hopefully we can do it properly next year!! Lol. Oh, and this poem is from River's p.o.v.
Eyes wide open
I see nothing.
Blind, blurry, blackness.
Images swirl, twirl
Merry-go-round of emotion.
Eyes wide shut
I see everything.
Everything, Simon.
I see everything.
Faces, races, different places.
They don't add up
Subtract and multiply, they don't add up.
Eyes closed and dreaming
I see.
Pain, puncture, practice.
The pain makes me insane.
That's what they think I am
And I see everything.
I could be insane
But I'm not.
Images whirl and swirl
But they don't add up.
Eyes open and awake
I see less.
And less is more or is more less?
She doesn't comprehend.
Raining, pouring inside.
Inside my mind,
Where I see everything.
I wish I could turn it all off
And make it stop.
Simon, make it stop.
Simon, please turn it off.
A/n: Well, basically a muddled mess of River's thoughts. What did you think? Let me know and leave me a review, as I adore any and all feedback. And this is my first Firefly fic yet (even though it's a poem and not really a fic). :D I forgot to add: This is Padfoot who wrote this.
