Here we're sitting watching the rain
It's falling down heavily this night
Washing away any evidence of pain
This storm truly is one wonderful sight
Cuddled up together on the couch
As we watch the downpour and hail
The water is out of our grasp, but we want to touch
Our endeavor is silly because we know we'll fail
Flood warnings have been issued,
News reports have cautioned us
Neither one of us moved, fearing we misused
This opportunity not fuss
About the raging storm that brought us together
Both of got caught unaware,
Had no idea this what the weather
Would do those who didn't beware
Fate had other plans in store
For we took shelter in the house
The two of us soaked to the core
Staring at your soaked blouse
We changed to dry clothes,
And pulled out a warm blanket
Here we are sitting on the couch.
